The Perfect Base Our 5 star luxury cottage location is ideal for those who wish to come and explore all that Devon has to offer. Close to lots of country walks and cycle route, Devon has recently won the top tourist awards for tourism and actively encourage these activities.  Okehampton "The Gateway to Dartmoor" is just a few miles away, providing a perfect base for cycling or walking alike and with lots of fishing in the area, we can be a great location to be based for Stafford Moor fisheries. We are also an ideal base for visiting friends and family in the nearby villages of Winkleigh, Monkokehampton, Broadwoodkelly, Iddelsleigh, or Hatherleigh to name just a few.

Cycling is very popular in Devon, and particularly for those wanting to see more of the Devonshire countryside. All levels and type are available close at hand, with mountain biking on Dartmoor and Exmoor as well as many coastal routes and less strenuous routes taking in the Tarka trail and numerous converted railway routes. There's no need to bring your bikes with you either, we can arrange for cycle hire, maps etc all for your holiday. Take a look at our Cycling page for further information. Don't forget we provide secure locked undercover storage for your bikes along with facilities for washing them down after your ride.

Many people associate Devon with Dartmoor and Exmoor not to mention the wonderful coast line, as a haven for walkers. There are lots of fantastic walks for all the family. Gentle walks which are relaxing to those for the keen walker cover the county. We even have our own Bridle path that leads down to numerous footpaths and make for great days out. Why not try one, stopping at a great Devon pub for lunch, where a warm welcome is always given. More ideas at our Walking page

For those who's love is more for fishing, we have many local fisheries providing every type and level of the sport.  From casual relaxing fishing to top level competition sport and covering all aspects of the sport from Course and Game fishing to sea fishing. See our Fishing page for more information.

Golf is also very popular in Devon with a number of good courses in the county. The variety covers almost every level, from the serious golfer who may wish to visit Royal North Devon Golf Club (handicap required), to the lovely village Chulmleigh Golf Course who welcome all players including children wanting to learn (no experience required) See our Golf page for further ideas

Then if all this is just too much why not take a wander round some of the  gardens in Devon and Cornwall. The RHS Rosemoor garden is full of ideas to take away, or explore the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan to make a lovely day out to mention just a couple of ideas. More information on our Gardens page

When its time to relax at the end of the day or for lunch we are spoilt with numerous lovely Pubs and Restaurants close at hand. Many of these are mentioned in the "Good Pub Guide" and provide excellent value for money as well as a great atmosphere and setting. Our Pubs page has plenty of ideas and all with our personal recommendation.

Or why not just relax in the garden, and soak up the lovely views over the Devonshire countryside at Colehouse West a Special Place There can be few better ways to get away from it all and relax than over a BBQ in your own private garden looking down the Cole Valley and watching the sun gently set over the distant hills with a glass of wine.

Come and enjoy all that Colehouse has to offer, and forget the pressures of everyday life. We look forward to seeing you soon....
