Beaches in Devon and Cornwall
Beautiful beaches and coasts to visit:-
For those who are looking to spend some time down at the sea, both the North and South coasts are within easy reach being just some 25 miles away, with the golden sandy beaches such as Bude, Westward Ho! and Woolacombe along with the spectacular rugged coastline .
The Southwest of England has the most recommended beaches compared to any other region in the Good Beach Guide. Cornwall is famous for its storm beaches and great surfing at places like Newquay. Devon is the perfect, young family destination. its less developed and not as commercialised as the big south coast resorts and families can enjoy a day out on the beach for not much more than £5. Prices correct for 2003 season. With miles of clean sandy beaches to choose from, these beaches have become a firm favourite with families and surfers. The great part of being in the middle of Devon is that if the weather is not so good on one coast, its probably great at the other and either are easy to get to in under 1 hour.
